COPYRIGHT NOTICE:  If you like these pictures, please let me know.  I put these pictures up on the web for people to enjoy.  If you want to use them for educational purposes, that's fine, but if you want to use them for commercial purposes, I'd appreciate it if you acknowledge the source (e-mail me for full details), and make a donation to the British Butterfly Conservation Society.  Many thanks.

For many years I have been interested in British Butterflies, collecting photographs of them whenever I could get out into the countryside, or even the roadside verges near my house.  Having lived for years in Surrey, with Box Hill and other important butterfly reserves close by, I have missed the variety of butterflies now I have moved to the Midlands.

This is my collection of British Butterfly photographs, which I hope to expand eventually to include descriptions, information about the butterfly and its habitat, and more information like that.  For those keen on photography, most of these were taken on either a Pentax MX SLR or a Canon A1 SLR, both using a Tamron SP300mm macro lens, or the standard 50mm lens with a 2x convertor.  They were all photographed onto either Ektachrome or Kodachrome slide film (various speeds, but I preferred ISO64).

Please also visit the British Butterfly Conservation Society and help prevent these beautiful creatures becoming extinct.
